this is ski butters. it is a top-down 2D turn-based game in an abandoned world. it is made in my own engine, written in python, using the pygame library. the character will have an inventory, level up as they defeat monsters, and unlock skills. throughout the game, the player will experience moods that you will need to take into account as you play.
the controls are currently directional keys for movement, "z" as an a button, "x" as a b button, "enter" as a start, and "r-shift" as a select. you can exit the game through the in-game menu, but be careful as it does not save the game yet.
if you are interested in becoming more involved with the development and discussion of the game, i've created a dedicated discord. it is there that i collect suggestions and bug reports, as well as host discussions for the game.
my game will always be free, and i will only use free tools to develop it. to reiterate, i will never spend a single penny developing this game. my goal is to create a testament to how accessible video game development is as a form of art. your donations won't go towards development. i will probably pay rent, or buy candy.
thank you.
